Y-Agora – Youth Agoras: Bridging Generations and Empowering Citizenship Across Europe is a two-year Erasmus+ project aimed at strengthening participatory democracy and civic engagement among young people in the Western Balkans. Inspired by the ancient Greek agora—a space for open dialogue, democratic debate, and collective decision-making—the project reimagines this concept through the creation of Youth Agoras, modern local democracy hubs where young people actively engage in shaping their communities.

The project addresses key challenges such as low levels of youth participation in democratic processes, weak civic engagement, and growing generational divides. Through structured dialogues, policy advocacy training, mentoring, and concrete community actions, Y-Agora empowers young people to meaningfully participate in decision-making processes and influence public policies at the local level.

Over the course of its 24-month implementation, Y-Agora will directly engage 51 young people and youth workers, support the implementation of eight impactful local policy actions, and reach big number of individuals, including youth, policymakers, and members of older generations. The project is implemented across Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania, fostering intergenerational dialogue, social cohesion, and sustainable democratic participation through innovative methods such as forum theatre, participatory forums, and Pecha Kucha presentations.

The project is implemented under the ERASMUS-YOUTH-2025-CB call and is carried out by a consortium led by Out of the Box International (Belgium), in partnership with Centrifuge (Serbia), SMOC (Bosnia and Herzegovina), ZID (Montenegro) and Youth 4 Society – Y4S (Albania).
